Open up to the endless possibilities

This week prompt over at the Circle of Art is such a beautiful reminder to broaden our perspectives and open up to the endless possibilities…

It may seem very difficult and sometimes the word and idea of  “impossible” may come up…but is it is only when we get going and evolve with the process that things unfold and take shape…So that word and idea are then replaced with the positive “possible” and everything looks different!!!

Mandala Journey: adventure in the mysterious

The more I dig into the essence of creativity I am fascinated to see how art and science meet…

So in this week practice of my mandala journey I continued from the previous phases… I got to explore and adventure into inner scapes from within even further…I decided to build up layers throughout days and processes and create a dynamic texture that continues to evolve…

A special quote from Einstein came to my mind and is somehow embedded within the layers.

The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious–
the fundamental emotion which stands at the  cradle of true art and true science.
                                                                                              Albert Einstein

My Mandala Journey continues adventuring through the Spiral

The new phase of the mandala adventure focuses on the spiral….

A very intriguing thing, not so easy to define really since it encompasses so many aspects of life and it is everywhere 🙂

So many ways to define the spiral… in terms of a curve, a sequence like the  fibonacci sequence, the golden rule, a growing dudle pattern, a symbol, a recurrent form or shape in everyday life…

What strikes me is the most amazing common feature within the structure of the spiral : the way something starts from the central point and progresses around it, expanding and radiating…

I started thinking about the connection with nature…

I ended up blending my thoughts and perceptions through my photography….In particular I decided not to touch or alter my photos, rather focus on the raw material…

It was so great to look around while pondering on the ideas of the spiral and explore within the everyday life… It is easy to see how things are indeed  interconnected.

Considering how we perceive and engage with our surroundings and this is how we “know” the world around us….Somehow inner and outer worlds connects through the spiral… Therefore we take part in the process…It is fascinating how macro and micro levels are interconnected ….

Then the artist within could not resist the urge to play with organic materials and bringing the studio outdoor…with endless colours, possibilities and textures…

waterspiral3wk4

Exploring perception from within and focusing on how things unfold… becoming aware of the active role when  engaging in creativity with nature….

Giving space to imagination further great organic material were discovered such as wood backgrounds from the forest and overlaying a peculiar texture from plants…

I was so immersed in my new playground that shapes and patterns unfolded connecting remote points of my imagination.

Nature kept suggesting more organic materials and colours and how elements can be invented, reinvented generating new landscapes which change within their ephemeral duration….

The creative force continues through the different stages and evolves re-creating and re-shaping …

Just perceiving the spiral as the mysteriously beautiful dynamic shape embodied in living things and in things we create too:)

The last mandala was inspired by my week 4 discoveries and a great art prompt by Art Therapy Alliance of  Day 5  Art Therapy Challenge : Make a mandala with your favorite art materials…

Well, I used when I had with me since I was traveling… and my intuition led the way….Only later when looking back I realised that it is evoking the growth of the spiral connecting inner and outer spaces through myself, others and the world…Behaviours, emotions, feelings, actions constitute the human connection with nature and make the world as we know it…Therefore even our thoughts and ideas become part of the spiral….

I just think that the title that came to mind explains it in a great way: “Connecting the Fabric of the World”.

I am looking forward to continue the adventure in this journey through Mandalas.

Continuing the journey through mandalas: Growing from the Seeds

It is a superbusy time in life and also super exciting week 3 of this speacial journey through Mandalas…

I managed to get around my process while on the go and improvise even more!

The focus last week was on planting the seed and identifying with the seed ….

My first mandala last week started with a wonderful personal journey through childhood memories….It was time to play and let the seed take me through the process….The joyful seed was planted and sprouting shapes and patterns unfolded along with autobiographical memories and dreams….

no1wk3

The continuing evolving shapes of my recent mandalas intrigued me… even though I would read and try to start to work from a circle or get to that shape ….things would just take over most of the time…It’s such an adventurous journey and intuition is taking the lead and questions come later LOL:)

So I next I decide to take a cardboard shape I made and use it as the seed to explore evolutions and see what would happen…Incredible energetic scapes blurred out of my imagination and it was just so cool to venture down that road…The process of my evolution, the  possibilities, my becoming….

no2wk3

And then again just being free to explore whatever resonates with me at the time…

The energy and the patterns and colors emanating from inner roads guided this other mandala…

This made me understand more about my unpredictable, asymmetric and unique  shapes and forms that evolve and propagate outwards…Even though the journey starts within it opens up and connects outwards…

no3wk3

Well, I also wanted to explore the strong bound with nature and the organic elements…and try out new materials creating texture and surfaces to play and connect…It is time for sprouting, emerging, germinating connecting all elements….

The passion for mixed media anda little  extravaganza joined the adventure:)

no4wk3

After pondering on nature and its magic, the infinite possibilities evolving into gardens and flowers….The magic happens from being hidden in dark soil and come out to the bright sunlight…..

Reconnecting and celebrating the journey of growth….

no5wk3

Transformation is a fantastic essential process of life that unfolds into new ways and offers different perspectives…the inside is still there nourishing and changing waiting to get to the surface and join the outside re-forming and re-emerging….

no6wk3

I guess my last mandala of week 3 was gathering all the different insightful experiences of the journey and the mandala brought  them together in yet another interesting way….

Another week in Mandalas: Resting in the Darkness

The next stage began following wonderful artist & teacher  Joy Hellman and her course on Mandala for Self Discovery and Expression…

My journey through self and world…the exploration of the connections between inner scapes and outer ones continues in a discovery that unfolds through the process of making mandalas

The week started as usual for me: getting adjusted to constantly changing environments and use what could be found around…Since for my first one I could not get to create a dark surface to work on… I had the idea to create an alternative texture background….Then working from that the journey started to unfold by itself …just following my intuition…

Amazingly, the process was telling me a story…the more I was following it, the more it made sense and of course it became clear that it was my story….Even though I was roughly following the process about creating and repeating shapes…One important principle I follow came through: Acceptance….Thus, Love for Imperfection, and uniqueness imprinted within everything…The title was just creating itself….

mandala1wk2

Funny enough for the next steps I improvised even more and found two “found” hard resin boards… They were black and waiting for me to become something else:)

So after finding materials to draw on them … Monochromatic approaches to the world from within and letting it take me through inner scapes….

mandala2wk2

mandala3wk2

Eventually I  managed to get some black cardboard to continue the journey…

While trying to centre myself , feel & connect inner and outer energy …

mandala4wk2

Then a beautiful re-connecting moment with a distance wonderful journey of mine with the Aborigines in the Australian Outback …And my inspired art-making sharing an important link…

mandala5wk2

I continued to follow the process, curious to see where my intuition would take me…

The vibrant dynamic creation through colors and shadows  just got me so reabsorbed within…

mandala6wk2

Finally last week journey reconnecting all the steps of those little discoveries made through each mandala, digging deeper and louder after planting each seed….

Regardless of forms, shapes, rules, colors, techniques or instruction….

The free flow will lead and it is ready to explore whatever will happen within the connecting branches….
