Compassion Games 2014: Team 6Degrees of Creativity creative deeds go global

Inspired by beautiful creative vibes and energy of Gretchen Miller I joined her great initiative to take part in Compassion games 2014 with the Team 6 Degrees of Creativity :)

It has been an amazing 10 days adventure creating and connecting to others, oneself and the earth….It is simply beautiful how this global initiative generated awesome secrets agents of compassion to spread the message and make the world we live in  a little brighter with every contribution!!!

So it all started with our daily assignments of creative deeds to make and share:)

The creative deed #1 “Show Us Your Heart!” was the perfect start to connect to the most amazing compassion vibes that connects globally with this initiative!! Gretchen had this fab powerful idea sending in photos of our cutting of a paper heart in team members’ hands. The strong message of utter empathy was right on the starting of the Compassion Games and on the Day of Remonstrance for September 11th…

CompassionGames2014deed#1

Next creative deed #2 : “Chalk It Up for Compassion!”… How great to create a piece of something outdoors with chalk so the world could stumble upon …so the message can really go a long way :)

CompassionGames2014creativedeed#2

Creative deed #3 “Compassion WordClouding” was real fun and an introduction into wordart design:)

CompassionGamescreativedeed3

Creative Deed #4 was a fab “Operation Random Acts of Creative Kindness” so operative got an opportunity to make some creative inspiring messages and spread them around….. so I though to share sockmonkey love and kindness with a take what you need flyer that could bright up the day of people encountering it…

ComapssionGamescreativedeed4
Creative deed #5…It was about recognizing a Compassion All Star in our life & community with a creative twist!  So that day I nominated a truly special person as Compassion All Star: my mom:)  and my artsy awards for this special nomination for her:) This process was very emotional….Thank you Gretchen!!!

Creative deed #6 “Creativity& Compassion Quote Hunt” … So by using free online programs one I created something using  a quote that deeply resonates withme…For me one can feel the endless ways of expressive arts getting to the soul!

CompassionGames2014creativedeed6

Creative deed #7 “Compassion Cards of Awesomeness” switched on that beautiful role of  being a Secret Agent of Compassion…Special Secret Agent mission to create anonymous Compassion Cards of Awesomeness to leave randomly  in places… The theme to celebrate in the cards was BEING AWESOME  :)

So while I was on the train I created some cards to distribute in a hospital…. I really loved to see the positive reactions of some people who discovered them…Of course as a secret agent I tried to keep distance LOL:)

Creative deed #8  “Secret Agent of Compassion- Nature Creative Deed”

Today’s Creative Deed  was again linked to Secret Agent of Compassion mission with the goal of showing compassion to nature & the earth…The intent was “to increase your understanding of the interrelatedness in nature” and for us in particular was to document this perspective with a photo. The SAoC mission posted earlier that week that became our mission for creative deed #8: http://secretagentofcompassion.org/2014/09/15/05-2014/

I was inspired with by grounding and earthing acts that really reconnect us to mature and the earth. In particular recalling a beautiful event back in India with a special friend when we planted spouted fruit seeds in the ground and let the eco magic happen:) So this time I sprouted bean seeds and I planted them honoring the earth:)
NatureCreativeDeed8
Creative deed #9 “Compassion Mandala”
What a great mission to create a mandala with our fav material  expressing what compassion means to us… Well for me, given what I could find as was still travelling I managed to get some paints and lil creative bits together and improvized a painting on a wooden board….It kinds of builds up layers through material, in a way creating the fabric and nuances that are connected with compassion.
compassionmandalacreativedeed9
Creative Deed # 10: “Compassion Stickie Note Art”
What a great mission to use Post-It/ Stickie Notes to spread around randomly creative messages about compassion!!! So much fun and good energy coming after a nice walk accomplishing this mission in the neighborhood:)
Compassion Stickie NoteArt
And to celebrate the last  of the Compassion Games: creative deed #11: “International Day of Peace Flag”!!!
We got to create a prayer flay celebrating this special day letting this reminder spreading its message through the wind…
I love making prayer flags as there is something special about the process and the message they carry. This time I have tried to make a paper one using few things from India and Tibet…Great to celebrate peace on the World Peace Day.

Random Acts of Art Adventure: Super-charged from powerful creative buzz from the traveling art pouch

A while back I joined an interesting creative adventure organised by board certified art therapist and certified trauma consultant  Gretchen Miller. The project involves a special Random Acts of ART Pouch touching several destinations globally and connecting creatives…

It was such a surprise to receive it after it traveled such a long way…It reached so many art corners and within its content much art was/is and will be shared!!! Finally the Random Acts of Art Adventure touched based in my creative space last week….super exciting!!! It was incredible to find so much goodness in it…There is the pouch’s fascinating journal/passport and then every single item is so infused with creative spirit that is way too contagious…Is beyond amazing to think about how many artists, places this special art pouch has reached and inspired… Being able to connect to those vibes is incredible!!!

20140831-211837-76717641.jpg

Discovering the content of the art pouch and going through its passport is so inspiring… every single bit comes from someone who has been creating before with its content and followed the philosophy of practicing random acts of art..

I received something special that Bernadette in Cambridgeshire did for me….beautiful!!!

I was so super-charged by this contagious energy that I created few things….

….A page in the pouch passport…

20140831-211917-76757154.jpg

Then I made a sort of mandala/art mantra for Michela waiting for the pouch next:)

20140831-211932-76772451.jpg

And while I was making something else…an unfolding love letter/note using cards and other material from the pouch…I came across someone who really needed it…so I took on this idea a little further and now I create some artsy notes to cheer up people who need it most and drop them randomly in community places I know …

20140831-211933-76773944.jpg

And so the random acts of art continue!!!!

Thank you Gretchen and everyone on this great inspiring adventure of practicing random acts of art!

P.E.T.E.’s School for Special Children support our Indiegogo project only 21 DAYS LEFT!

Hello everyone:)

I know it has been quite a while…I disappeared from the cyber world but I have been networking and following projects in the world around me:) Finally getting back and it is great to catch up with amazing creatives and inspiring people from all over!

I would like to bring the attention to P.E.T.E. NGO in New Delhi and the project we set up on Indiegogo to open a new school for special children in the slums as time is running out…ONLY 21 DAYS!!! Please help us make this project a reality!!!

Directly from P.E.T.E. UPDATE

“Introducing our newest project….. P.E.T.E.’s School for Special Children

We want to provide a safe place where children with special needs can

learn and grow. One volunteer, Lizzie, was inspired by a child named

Sandeep that she met in the slums. After building a friendship with

Sandeep, she wanted to do something for him and the other special

children after she left India. Lizzie has teamed up with P.E.T.E. To help us

open a new school for children with special needs to learn through music,

art, and creativity. We need to raise $3,500 to make this school possible

and we depend on the support of people like you! We have included a link

to our crowdfunding campaign and we hope that you will consider giving to

our cause. Please help make the school for special children possible! Every

donation is appreciated and helps us get closer to reaching our goal!”

Update from the journey: meet PETE NGO and my super idea:) Please give me a hand!

Hi everyone everywhere,

I hope life is treating you well and that the sun is shining and the moon glowing:)

As usual I fell behind with my blog updates as things in India can get quite hectic…not to mention the heat wave that is bringing boiling temperatures in most states…. In spite of the heat I have experienced, exploring and getting insight into what it often feels another world…

Through my volunteering experience with PETE India NGO working in its schools in the slums of New Delhi I have discovered the most amazing, inspiring and happy children and people….It is utterly amazing how real happiness doesn’t cost anything and people in the slums constantly remind you that. I feel so honored to have been given a chance to interact with kids and girls in the school, bring my creative input and help them foster their imagination as “only sky is the limit”.

I spent time with the locals and I got to meet the families and special needs children in the slums….My heart was filled with joy by those encounters and by being able to make art and spend time with those children who are beyond amazing. Because of their special needs conditions and that there is no infrastructure nor knowledge in the families on how to handles them I feel something has to be done to improve the quality of life of those children and their families. I think opening a new PETE Special Needs School would totally make an impact and go a long way. Therefore I had this idea to fundraise to help set up and run the school for the first year.

So I am launching a fundraiser campaign on indiegogo click link below for more details:)

Not everyone can travel and often when we face different realities in third world countries it is difficult to find a way to actively do something….So I was thinking how nice it would be if everyone could take a little part in this…just  like giving up a little something in your everyday life can be anything like your treat of tea/coffee or something bigger like a perk or a larger contribution…whatever you feel like….anything could go along way in this project…. So what do you say are you in?

20140430-163255.jpg

Sandeep and all other special needs children, their families and community would have a wonderful chance of a brighter happier future and we can make that happen….I believe this project is the most special gift for them:)

Inspiration from the circle of art

Namaste,

I still need to update posts from the road…getting there in due time;)

I am  finally able to reconnect with the vibrant energy of inspiring creatives over at the circle of art….I have been travelling and following interesting projects and ideas but I have been missing touching base with amazing people over at the circle of art:)

It is quite interesting bringing that inspiration into the reality I am experiencing at the moment…..Thank you Petrea and everyone at over at the circle of Art!!!

A special artistic collaboration nurturing the spirit of SPIRAL CHANNELS

It was so great to connect with inspiring artist, friend and mother Abha Bhagwat .

It is so wonderful how things brought us together… From initial cyber interactions while following an on-line course on intuitive painting hosted by amazing Petrea Hansen Adamidis based in Toronto, Canada….My recent whereabouts in India finally made us meet in person, connect and create together!!!

Her work and environment is bursting with creative ideas that just keep flowing and are so contagious:) It was an honor taking part in art workshops and experience her artwork. The amazing creative boost and the wonderful artistic environment outside the box just made me want to share the experience and this great connection….

I really wanted to introduce Abha to the amazing creative network of SPIRAL CHANNELS  I am part of (an international intercultural and interdisciplinary project in constant evolution).  So here it is a collaborative artwork celebrating the process and connection of two artists coming from different worlds yet finding a familiar ground to express and explore inner worlds….

I look forward to do more artwork with Abha and to see her over at the SPIRAL CHANNELS.…a great community where creative collaborations flourish and bring together inspiring people from all over the world… A great project by artist Vlado Franjevic

New Update from the road: straight form the heart of the artist journal

It has been a while I wanted to write this post but I got side tracked but some personal stuff going on ….more on that on next post:)

So during my travels and experiences in India I was lucky enough to connect, meet and spend some time with some amazing people and take part in great projects and ideas just as they unfold….With a little nostalgia I left the north of India a while ago and decided to head south in spite of the heat … On one hand it was difficult to say good-bye and hit the road again after having met some fab people who made me part of their extended family and their world… On the other hand  by making my way south I got to experience new colors, flavors, crowds, languages and traditions….

The main reason to cruise through Mumbai and head to Pune in Maraashatra was to meet and spend some quality time with a very inspiring friend, artist and parent Abha Bhagwat .… I was blown away with my experience spending time with her, her family and friends.  I was lucky to take part in Abha’s art workshops and see her artwork. It is so refreshing and beautiful to find someone who treasures children creativity and imagination, understanding how essential it is to let that flow within any aspects of children’s life.

Also having the chance to visit inspiring places fostering free play and imagination like the Balbahvan in Pune, a truly special recreational place for children created by extraordinary Shobhatai…

20140423-104131.jpg

And then the amazing project by Arvin Gupta , at IUCCA, making learning toys from trash with the mission of  bringing education everywhere and stimulating the creative mind…Super inspiring environments where creative ideas get wings:)))

It was so amazing to experience life these amazing places and playing freely with imagination and creativity inspired by a very open, experimental and inspiring environment promoting the creative flow on so many levels. I so enjoyed the incredible inspiring energy coming from interactions with children and making art with them. It is special to see the world through their eyes…So this is the fab context from which magic things happen.. While I have made my journal throughout my different whereabouts and improvised with art materials and communities…in Pune I was overwhelmed by the contagious artistic creative vibes all around…

Namaste 🙏 Lizzie’s update from projects and travels in India

It has been a while since my last post….
I have been wanting to write updates from the incredible journey through India but life has been quite chaotic and filled with unexpected events and situations;)

Artevolutions is a space I created to connect and share anything about life, inspire and be inspired… Life itself is a form of art and what we make throughout every day we are able to create, share and connect amazing moments… I have decided to follow my latest journey adventures in India via writing in this blog…I hope that anyone who is interested in my experiences can find my posts useful and inspiring;)

A bit more than six weeks ago I embarked on an adventure of travels and projects with small NGOs operating in India….I first arrived in the north of the country and travelled a little to get a grasp of the culture, differences, people and traditions….As often described travelling to India is a full immersion into another world with a powerful experience through all senses….flavors, smells, colors, art and architecture, performances, music, dances, spices, food, local vendors, the noise, the super crowded spaces….then there are different realities codex insisting side to side and it can get quite difficult to cope….

It has been incredible to meet so many people on my path and connect….in particular I have managed to learn and share experiences with local communities in the Thar desert where a there is a fabulous project of some village tribes to become eco-friendly, self sufficient and bring education in the desert….Amazing minds and ideas coming from people that cannot read or write and yet have such a beautiful vision for the next generations is so touching and inspiring….So far I have done surveys and research and we are building a team of people interested in making rural communities self sustainable and educated…so anyone interested or having particular skills please get in touch!

20140315-145415.jpg

20140315-145436.jpg

Then I got to meet an incredible teacher and social worker Mr. Hari who is bringing education, with very poor or inexistent schooling structure, to the most remote villages in the countryside and hills in the areas around Khajuraho….Embarking on those long bicycle journeys to get to villages and seen students so excited to learn and gain a better future goes beyond words…Children and older students understand the importance of changing the lives of the new generations and how education is the key to change.

20140315-145938.jpg

20140315-150002.jpg

20140315-150035.jpg

20140315-150049.jpg

So far my journey in India has been an incredible country where I made incredible encounters;) I got to experience life from a very special standpoint and even though at times things seem hard as dealing with different realities the kindness and welcome of amazing people enabled me to continue through my journey… Feeling that my efforts and time within local communities is so appreciated that everything feels so light and these experiences are contributing my personal development and getting a wider perspective on life….

So while my research, contribution and connection to spread awareness and implement these project continues ( they are projects at very initial states, so anyone who wants to contribute with knowledge, skills or interest is more than welcome) my journey continues adventuring with a small NGO: PETE Providing Education To Everyone in New Delhi Slums….next post will be focusing on that experience and the fundraising campaign I am preparing;)

Please connect to my social media links on this page ( twitter and artevolutions on Facebook to get updates on developments of the projects) and if you are interested in seeing India through my eyes you can see pictures on my Facebook page (Lizzie Bellotto) or Instagram (@lizzieartnsurf)

Curling energy

NAMASTE everyone,

Greetings from India!

Things will be quieter here as I am on the road and will not get a chance to update much….

However, I shall stop by when I get a chance and share the journey;)

And go all those awesome blogger out there I will catch up with things slowly …..

I came across the very inspiring prompt over at the circle of art……

“There is a light seed grain inside. You fill it with yourself, or it dies.

I’m caught in this curling energy. Your hair. Whoever’s calm and sensible is insane.

Rumi…♥”

It is great to encounter Fun Monday Challenge #35 – Loving Kindness in Art even with a lil delay :)

Lani points to some very interesting research on the positive effects of pro-social behavior and relation to others! Lani had a fab idea for this week Challenge to create our own Loving-Kindness art to promote pro-social feelings….

AWESOME…a practice to keep doing every single day throughout any activities…

Loving-Kindness definitely raise vibrations and make positive shifts in energy and environments.
